Three school teachers, who were among 25,753 people, who were invalid by the Supreme Court in the SSC scam, withdrew their indefinite fast on Sunday, alleging that they were frightened by TMC members.
The Trinamool Congress dismissed the allegation, saying that it had increased the support of their cause and was in favor of all qualified teachers to get back their jobs.

“We are withdrawing their fast in front of TMC workers in front of secret threats and dangers. Although the police are present here, we do not feel safe to sit in the open for hours,” Suman Biswas, who was a teacher at Nakashipara High School in Nadia district, told PTI.
The Supreme Court on 3 April invalidated the appointment of 25,753 teachers and other employees in state-operated and state-help schools, calling their selection process “as stained and tainted”.
Biswas, along with Pankaj Roy and Pratap Kumar Saha, launched a hunger strike outside the West Bengal School Services Commission (WBSSC) office, Acharya Prafulla Chandra Bhavan on 10 April.
“After gathering more people, who have already promised to support our reason, we will start the hunger strike again. We will also protest all over the state. We will not rest until WBSSC publishes the list of candidates who have got jobs on their merit and those who have received appointments by giving bribes,” said Biswas.
The teachers abolished their indefinite fast with coconut water, which was introduced to them by a civil rights worker.
Trinmol Chatra Parishad president Trinakur Bhattacharya said, “The party or its wings are not involved in scaring or threatening the agitating teachers.”
“They are politicizing the issue, and blaming TMC, who has also increased their support. It should be seen if they are working at the behest of CPI (M) or BJP,” he said.
