Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will jointly inaugurate the fourth edition of Kashi-Tamil Sangamam (KTS 4.0) in Varanasi on December 2. The event will once again celebrate the age-old civilizational ties between Kashi and Tamil Nadu, strengthening cultural, linguistic and educational exchanges.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi, Puducherry Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Union Minister of State L. Prominent dignitaries including Murugan will be present. Their participation underlines the growing national importance of Sangamam as a bridge between northern and southern India.
Over eight days, over 1,400 delegates from Tamil Nadu – including students, teachers, writers, media professionals, artisans, farmers, professionals and spiritual scholars – will explore the cultural, educational and spiritual ecosystem of Kashi. The itinerary also includes academic and community interactions as well as visits to heritage sites, temples, craft clusters, universities and knowledge institutions.
Organized by the Ministry of Education in collaboration with ten Central Ministries namely Culture, Tourism, Railways, Textiles and Youth Affairs & Sports and the Government of Uttar Pradesh, KTS 4.0 continues to serve as a premier national confluence of culture and education. IIT Madras and BHU are the knowledge partners for this edition.
This year’s theme, “Learn Tamil – Tamil Karakalam” aims to promote Tamil education across India and foster a deeper appreciation of the classical literary heritage of Tamil. The delegates will also visit Prayagraj and Ayodhya to gain a comprehensive understanding of the spiritual and cultural landscape of the region.
Kasi-Tamil Sangamam, now in its fourth edition, continues to reinforce India’s living traditions of unity, shared knowledge and inter-cultural dialogue.
