Bangalore, 8 September (PTI) ISRO President V Narayanan approved a proposal to organize a conversation program with the Karnataka Minister for Astronaut Group captain Shubanshu Shukla, minor irrigation, science and technology, NS Bosraju said on Monday.
In collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology, ISRO and Jawaharlal Nehru, the student will soon host the conversation with Shukla, the minister said.
In a statement, Boseraju thanked Narayanan for “to give positive answers to the request”. The event will be held at Ur Rao Hall, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, which will facilitate the incident of ISRO.
Students of high schools and government schools in Bengaluru and neighboring districts will have a direct opportunity to interact with astronauts, while students from other parts of Karnataka can participate in regional science centers through live streaming, they said.
However, the date of the program has not been announced yet.
“These initiatives inspire children for science, research and space exploration. Karnataka has always been at the forefront of science and technology. Such programs help to nurture curiosity and innovative thinking among young minds,” Boseerju said.
“Our government is committed to promoting scientific nature among children in Karnataka. With the cooperation of ISRO, the incident will provide students an extraordinary opportunity to interact with an astronaut and encourage a career in space science and technology.”
Shukla, a 39-year-old Indian Air Force official and Test pilot, completed his first space trip as part of the Axiom-4 mission, a commercial spaceflight supported by ISRO and NASA, and Axiom Space.
The visit marked a milestone for India: Shukla is the second Indian to enter the International Space Station (ISS) and space after Rakesh Sharma’s prestigious flight in 1984.
