In the ongoing battle on the property of late businessman Sujay Kapoor, the Delhi High Court questioned his widow Priya Sachdev’s desire to secretly disclose the property. In a hearing on Thursday, the court stated that his first wife, actor Karisma Kapoor had the right to question Sujay’s children, the will of him, and as a result, a seal cover filing could be ‘problematic’.
Delhi HC hears Priya Sachdev’s request for secrecy
On Thursday, Justice Jyoti Singh heard an application by Suzay Kapoor’s wife Priya Sachdev Kapoor, in which a seal cover with parties sought permission to file a list of her personal property and liabilities in a seal cover, or in a seal cover with the Constitution of the Privacy Club.
Priya Sachdev Kapoor’s lawyer said that the request was due to security. “Bank details, other financial statements. Why should the public have a bank account number?” The lawyer asked, claiming that “press conferences” were held after the hearing.
However, the court said it was problematic.
“Application may be problematic for a simple reason, as an alleged beneficiary of property, they (Karishma’s children, Samaira Kapoor and Kian Raj Kapoor) have the right to disclose the property. Suzay Kapoor Estate Case
Sujay Kapoor died in London in June this year. His third wife Priya presented a document in August, claiming that it was his wish. It is challenged by Samaira and Kian Raj, as well as Sunayjay’s mother, Rani Kapoor. Some reports claimed that Sunajay’s property was worth 30,000 crores. However, Karishma’s children have said that they do not know about the real value. On September 10, the High Court asked Priya to give the court a list of his assets.
The court will resume the hearing on the case on Friday.
