Professor Tiwari says that Kanthkari has many medicinal properties. It is used in the treatment of throat swelling, cough and problems related to the respiratory system. Kantakari has been included in ‘Dashmool’ medicines in Ayurveda. It is extremely effective for respiratory problems like asthma, cough and bronchitis. The juice of its fruit is helpful in reducing lumps and swelling in the throat.
