One of the most beloved manga in recent times, Jujutsu Kaisen, comes to an end with its 44th volume released by Shueisha’s Shonen Jump magazine on Monday this month. With the latest release of the issue, author Gege Akutami revealed that the manga currently has 100 million copies in circulation, not sold but including digital copies. The manga’s official website did not clarify whether this number was worldwide or specific to Japan.

100 million copies of Jujutsu Kaisen are in circulation
To announce the manga’s milestone of 100 million copies, Akutami released the final illustration for the manga possibly featuring Yuji Itadori. The magazine also made several other project announcements in celebration of the end of the series. The 28th volume of the manga will arrive on October 5, followed by the 28th and 29th volumes on December 5. The 30th volume will be the final volume, with no release date.
Additionally, the 46th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on October 15 will have a form for readers to receive character holo clear cards with images of the covers of volumes 0 to 30 of the manga. For fans waiting for something from the manga, a guidebook for the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc will be sent on October 4, Anime News Network reports.
While the manga ended this year, the upcoming year will witness a celebration of the manga as it will get an exhibition in Osaka in April 2025 and the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc will be compiled into a movie next year. The upcoming season of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga adapted into an anime has also been released which will be based on the Culling Game arc.

Netizens react to new milestone achievement
Netizens had mixed feelings about Jujutsu Kaisen’s revelation and fans were happy with the new milestone, but were hit by the fact that it is the end of the manga. Users were disappointed as this was not the manga announcement they were expecting. “Gauge this is not a JJK2 announcement,” one user wrote on X. Another user wrote, “Gauge didn’t even name his domain!” “Yuji looks terrible geez,” a third user complained, referring to the new illustration. Another user wrote, “Oh I know he’s celebrating because he’ll never have to portray JJK characters again.”
While some were happy for the manga as one user wrote, “I’ll miss Yuji. Thank you Gege sensei for creating one of the best heroes in all forms of media,” while another user wrote, “E really cooked ffs.”
