Workers who know how to bend iron, lay ceramic tiles and plaster are being sent to Israel, where they will be provided employment opportunities.
The employment department in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh is giving youth an opportunity to work in Israel. Interested and eligible candidates have to register first, and then can apply online by contacting the Employment Department.
Speaking to News 18, Moradabad District Employment Officer Sushil Kumar said that a contract has been signed between the Government of India and Israel to provide employment to workers in the construction sector.
Under this contract, NSDC is the designated implementing agency to send workers to Israel in four categories by liaising with Israel’s PIBA (Population and Immigration Authority). Workers in the categories of framework or shuttering carpenters, iron bending, ceramic tile installation and plastering are being sent to Israel, where they will be provided employment opportunities.
District Employment Officer Sushil Kumar said that specific qualifications have been prescribed for the workers to be sent to Israel. Applicants must be between 25 to 35 years of age, possess a passport with a validity of at least three years and have at least three years of experience in the relevant trade.
Apart from this, workers are being sent to Israel with the condition that they should not have worked in the same country earlier. Interested construction workers will have to register as job seekers on the employment department’s integrated portal rojgaarsangam.up.gov.in.
District Employment Officer Sushil Kumar further said that the screening process is the first step in the selection of workers to be sent to Israel. Subsequently, RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) will be conducted for those who pass the free screening.
Vocational tests will be conducted by the Israeli body PIBA (Population, Immigration and Border Authority) to select RPL-certified workers. Additionally, those who qualify this exam will be subjected to police verification and medical examination.
It is important to note that the pre-screening RPL process does not guarantee selection for recruitment in Israel, it is only a stage in the overall selection process by the company. The role of the employment office is to provide qualified construction workers to the Israeli establishment for this process, and workers will be notified upon its completion.
