New Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University has opened online applications for PhD admission for the academic year 2025-26, even the students of the union started an indefinite hunger strike on Thursday night.

According to the official schedule issued by the university, online submission of PhD application form will be from 26 June to 7 July. A small improvement window will be available from 8 to 9 July, followed by temporary points of Viva-VOCE invitation from July 18. The Viva-Voce exams are scheduled to be held from 25 July to 31 July.
The first merit list will be published on 11 August from 11 August to 13 August on August 11, and from August 18 to August 21 with physical verification of documents.
The second merit list will be released on August 29, followed by registration and fee payment from August 29 to August 31 and the document verification on September 4 and 5.
If necessary, a third and final merit list will be published on 15 September, open payments by 17 September, and verification fixed for 22 September and 23 September. The last deadline for admission and registration in all rounds is 30 September.
