The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advice for the students preparing to appear in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026. The agency has asked the candidates of BTECH, Barch and BPlanning programs to update their Aadhaar card, UDID card and category certificate (EWS, ST, OBC-NCL) well. This will help them to avoid mistakes and discrepancies while filling the online application form.
Before registering for the exam, candidates have been advised to carefully check and update their important documents. This step will reduce the possibility of problems during or after the application process or after admission.
The online registration form for the first session of JEE Main 2026 will be available on the official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in in October 2025.
Documents that need to update to JEE Main 2026
In its official statement, the NTA said, “To streamline the process for JEE (Main) 2026, all eligible aspirations are advised to ensure that the following documents are already well updated well, before applying to JEE (Main) 2026, to avoid any discrepancies, complaints or rejections later.

Documents that should be checked and updated:
Aadhaar Card: Candidate name, date of birth (according to class 10 certificate), father’s name, latest picture and address should be all correct.
UDID card (for persons with disabilities): This card should be valid. If it is ending, students must renew it before applying.
Category Certificate: Candidates applying under EWS, SC, ST or OBC-NCL categories must have a valid and updated certificate issued by the competent authority.
The NTA has underlined that incorrect or older documents may rejection the application form or cause difficulty in the admission process. Therefore, students have been urged to work early and avoid final-minute issues.
