To facilitate the top 100 rank holders at all India level to get admission into Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K), the Institute has introduced scholarships so that no meritorious student faces financial constraints in their academic pursuits. JEE Advanced Result Live Updates
IIT-K congratulated the outstanding achievers of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2024 and praised Ved Lahoti of IIT Delhi region, who topped the Common Rank List (CRL) by scoring 355 out of 360 marks. It also praised Dwija Dharmeshkumar Patel of IIT Bombay region, who is the top ranked female candidate with CRL 7. She scored 332 out of 360 marks.
This year, Manya Jain has emerged as the top performer from Kanpur zone, securing All India Rank (AIR) 75, followed by Shubham Nair (AIR 131), Garv Chaudha (AIR 163), Shrestha Gupta (AIR 191) and Siddharth Agarwal (AIR 306). Among the female candidates, Shrestha Gupta has secured AIR 191, making her the highest-ranking female candidate in the zone.
4926 candidates passed from Kanpur zone, 344 more than last year
Out of the 21,634 candidates registered from the Kanpur zone coordinated by IIT Kanpur, 21,169 appeared for the exam and 4,926 successfully cleared it. The institute claimed in a press release that this is a significant achievement for the zone, reflecting the high standards of preparation and dedication among the students. Notably, of the 17,700 male candidates registered, 17,333 appeared and 4,338 passed. Similarly, 3,934 female candidates registered, 3,843 appeared and 590 passed. Last year, a total of 22955 candidates from Kanpur zone appeared for JEE Advanced, of which 4582 passed.
‘Bright Minds Scholarship’
IIT Kanpur has announced the continuation of its exclusive ‘Bright Minds Scholarship’ for the All India Top 100 rank holders of JEE Advanced 2024 for the fourth consecutive year. These scholarships, generously supported by alumnus Lokveer Kapoor, were introduced in 2021 to ensure that no bright student faces financial constraints in their academic pursuits.

This ‘Bright Minds Scholarship’ offers ten prestigious and highly sought-after academic scholarships to students seeking admission to BTech/BS programmes at IIT Kanpur for the academic year 2024. Each eligible student will receive a scholarship of Rs 1000 per year. An amount of Rs 3 lakh, which covers their expenses during their undergraduate programme. The scholarship will be awarded for all four years of the UG programme, provided the students maintain a minimum Cumulative Performance Index (CPI) of 8.0.
Highest number of successful candidates from IIT Madras Zone
Maximum number of 11,180 candidates have successfully cleared the examination from IIT Madras region which includes 4 candidates in top 10 including Bhogalapalli Sandesh (CRL: 3), 25 candidates in top 100, 53 in top 200, around 88 in top 300, 112 in top 400 and 145 in top 500.
A total of 10,255 candidates from IIT Delhi cleared the exam. There are two students in the top 10 including Ved Lahoti CRL:1, around 29 in the top 100, another 60 in the top 200, around 82 in the top 300, around 104 in the top 400 and 122 in the top 500.
9480 students from IIT Bombay cleared the exam. Three students including Rajdeep Mishra CRL: 6 in top 10, 30 students in top 100, 60 students in top 200, 85 students in top 300, 111 students in top 400 and 136 students in top 500.
5136 students have cleared the exam from IIT Roorkee. There is one student in top 10 including Rhythm Kedia CRL:4, there are nine students in top 100, 13 students in top 200, 27 students in top 300, around 38 students in top 400 and 48 students in top 500.
There is no topper from IIT Kanpur zone in the top 10, but one candidate – Manya Jain, who secured 75th rank – figures in the top 100. There are four in the top 200, another 4 in the top 300, around 12 in the top 400, and another 17 in the top 500.
4811 students cleared the exam from IIT Bhubaneswar. There are no students in the top 10, only 4 students in the top 100 including Macha Baladitya (CRL:11), eight students in the top 200, ten students in the top 300, around 18 students in the top 400 and 27 students in the top 500.
2458 students from IIT Guwahati passed the exam, out of which none of the students could make it to the top 10, two each in the top 100 and 200, four in the top 300, and five in the top 400 and top 500 respectively.
