Four Indian Army soldiers were injured in an ongoing encounter with terrorists in the upper reaches of Naidgham village in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir late Friday evening, the Indian Army said.
One of the injured jawans has been taken to the nearby command hospital for treatment while three are being treated locally. The Indian Army said that security forces have cordoned off the area and the operation is still underway.
The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps said, “Based on intelligence inputs, a joint operation was launched with Jammu and Kashmir Police in Chatroo area of Kishtwar. Contact was established with the terrorists at 1530 hrs. In the ensuing exchange of fire, four Army personnel were injured. The operation is ongoing.”
