IRCTC is making Bhutan trips, affordable package, quick booking

New Delhi. Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has started a special rail journey connecting India and Bhutan, named ‘India-Bhutan Mystic Mountain Tour’. This 13 night and 14 -day journey will start from Delhi Safdarjung railway station from 28 June 2025. This modern deluxe air -conditioned train will have first, second and third grade coaches, in which 150 tourists will be able to travel. Tourists can also board this train from Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Tundla Junction, Kanpur, Lucknow and Varanasi stations.

The journey will cover Guwahati, Shillong, Cherrapunji and Bhutan’s Thimpu, Punakha and Paro in India. The first stop will be Guwahati, where tourists will visit Kamakhya Temple. After this, we will see the sunset of Umiam Lake in Shillong. The next day Cherrapunji will have a spectacular springs of seven sisters, Nohkhalikai and Elephant Falls and Mavasmai caves. After seeing the local sites in Shillong, one more day will enjoy the sunset cruise on the Brahmaputra river. Then the train will go to Hasimara station, which is near Bhutan border.

Dinner with cultural program

Tourists from Hasimara will enter Bhutan via the Phuntsholing border. On the first day, Thimpu will have a local market and surrounding walk. The next day will see Motithang Zoo, Painting School, National Library, Handicrafts Bazar and Tashi Chhog (Thim Dhong) in Thimpu. After this, Punakha will go, where there will be a walk of Douchula Pass and Punakha Dhong on the way, which is on the banks of the rivers and the rivers. Then in Paro, Lampiry Royal Botanical Park, Tamchog Lhakhang will see the iron bridge and Paro pretending. The next day there will be a trip to Tiger Nest (Takatsang Lhakhang) and National Museum. Tourists will experience hot stone bath with archery and medicinal water. There will be dinner with cultural programs at night.

Stay at Three Star Hotel

At the end of the journey, tourists will catch the train from Hasimara and return to Delhi. The price of this package is Rs 1,58,850 for first class (well), Rs 1,44,892 for first class (cabin), Rs 1,29,495 for second class and Rs 1,18,965 per person for third class. This includes train travel, staying at 3-Setara Hotel, vegetarian food, bus-by-sightsee, travel insurance and tour guide facility. IRCTC will make every effort to make this journey safe and memorable. This journey is a great chance to closely see the culture and natural beauty of India and Bhutan.
