The big names behind the Hallyu Wave are slowly but surely acknowledging the value of the huge Indian audience. As more international viewers turn to Netflix for the latest K-drama content, Amazon Prime Video has stepped up its game in the South Asian country by increasing its hold on Korean content. Bringing a wide range of K-pop concerts, reality shows and exclusive K-drama releases, Channel K was launched in November 2024 as India’s first authentic Korean entertainment channel on OTT.
In addition to the affordable initial subscription on Prime Video at just Rs 1, the brand new “gateway to Korean entertainment” is expanding its library of premium content this New Year. Helping the diverse Indian fan communities stay connected to the latest offerings from the K-entertainment industry, Channel K introduced a number of new premieres, including exclusive K-pop specials and concert films.

The list also boasts upcoming premieres of recent top-rated dramas like Coupang Play family Mattersstarring Park Solomon (aka Lomon), Bae Doona and Lee Su Hyun, and Lim Ji Yeon starrer JTBC drama Lady’s story is okHere’s what the first month of the new year brings for K-drama and K-pop faithful.
Channel K’s January 2025 K-drama and K-pop release schedule
1. Family matters (new k-drama)

Available exclusively to Indian audiences on the channel, the gory thriller series blends comedy as a group of people with special abilities pretend to be a family in a race for survival against multiple criminals.
2. The Tale of Lady OK (new k-drama)

Another special release planned for India by the channel is the JTBC historical drama based on the Joseon period. Almost everything about rising pro Ok Tae Young is not as it seems. By hiding the secret that shapes her identity, the self-reliant woman everyone loves escapes her own painful past. Despite her freedom from past struggles, she eventually gets trapped in her own lies, created in order to survive, until she meets a storyteller who falls in love with her at first sight.
3. Accident after accident 2 (variety/reality show)
