The story is interesting
According to beliefs, Mata Sheetla is considered an incarnation of mother Gauri. She was the daughter of King Daksha, son of Lord Brahma. He was married to Lord Shiva. It is believed that King Daksha was not happy with his daughter’s marriage, which was the reason that he called everyone in the yagna to be held here but did not invite Lord Shiva. This insult was not endured by Mata Sheetla. Enraged by the insult of Lord Shiva, Mata came to the place of Sheetla Yagya and jumped into the fire tank and gave up her life. When Lord Shiva came to know about this incident, he reached the place of sacrifice and took the dead body of Mata Sheetla in his hands and started circling the entire universe.
Body divided into sections
Seeing such a condition of Bholenath, Lord Vishnu divided the body of Mata Sheetla into a block-block with his Sudarshan Chakra. Part of his body fell in 51 places of the earth where 51 Shaktipeeths are sitting today. Two of these are Shaktipeeth, Palhneshwari Mata’s Palhana Devi Temple and Shitala Mata temple in Nizamabad are in Azamgarh.
