IIT jam 2026: Registration for IIT Jam 2026 will begin on 5 September, as declared by IIT Bombay via a notice. Interested candidates can register for this entrance examination through IIT Jam 2026 or Joaps portal at Jam2026.Iitb.ac.in by the time limit of October 12, 2025.
This examination facilitates admission in MSC and integrated MSC-PhD courses in IITs and IISC. The IIT Jam 2026 Exam is to be held in two shifts on 15 February. According to prospectus, about 3000 seats are available in PG courses in 22 IITs for academic year 2026-27.
IIT jam 2026: criteria for entrance exam
Candidates should receive graduation or IIT Jam 2026 in their final year of graduation. There is no upper age limit for the exam. However, applicants should complete their bachelor’s degree by the time of admission and submit a valid evidence of graduation within the prescribed limit by the concerned institution.

Exam date: 15 February, 2026

IIT jam 2026: application fee
The application fee for IIT Jam 2026 is Rs 1000 for SC/ST, women and a paper for separate armed candidates. For candidates of other categories, the fee is Rs 2000. For two letters, fee is Rs 1350 for reserved category candidates and Rs 2700 for other candidates. Additionally, a fee of Rs 300 will be charged to replace the examination city, paper, category or penis.

There are a total of 100 marks in the three -hour examination. Divided into three compulsory sections – A, B, and C – Exams include seven subjects: Mathematics (MA), Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematical Statistics (MS), and Physics (PH).
Through IIT jam, candidates get M.Sc. Can get admission in. And other postgraduate programs offered by 22 IITs, integrated Ph.D. And M.Sc. Programs available in IISC Bangalore, as well as entering institutions such as the National Institute of Technology (NITS), IIEST SHIBPUR, and Sliet Punjab, IISER PUNE, IISER Bhopal, JNCASR and IIPE.
