The institute said in a statement on Tuesday that the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) has abolished its memorandum (MoU) with Sabanak University, Türkiye. This decision has been taken in view of national interest. The institute said that all educational cooperation and related activities have been canceled under this MoU.
IIMK said, “In view of the national interest, the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has unilaterally canceled the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with immediate effect with Sabnik University, Turkey.”
“In IIM Kozhikode, we give immense importance to align our global attachments with national interest. The decision to cancel MOU with the University of Sabancı is taken after a careful consideration and our institutional responsibility is committed to maintaining the values and priorities of our nation.
The MoU was signed for a five -year period in 2023.

The decision has been motivated by Operation Sindoor in India by open support in Pakistan and Azerbaijan, which was launched to eliminate terrorist sites after terrorist Terror attack in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) in Pakistan.
Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Punjab had first abolished all mousse with Turki and Azerbaijan institutions. Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Jamia Millia Islamia, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (Manuu) in Hyderabad, and Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) in Kanpur also suspended their agreements with Turkia and Azerbaijan.
Manu canceled his MoU with Younus Emera Institute, Turki for a diploma course. While Jamia Millia Islamia had suspended all educational cooperations with the Turk’s government, citing national security concerns. JNU also suspended its MoU with Turk’s Inonu University, which was signed for faculty and student exchange programs earlier this year.
