A similar incident has come to light in Ghaziabad. A house caught fire due to a closed washing machine catching fire. Fortunately, the people living nearby controlled the fire in time and a major accident was averted.
This incident happened in Officer City-2, a society in Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad. Here a washing machine kept in the balcony of a flat caught fire on its own. Some people saw the fire burning in the balcony. After this, many people gathered and reached the flat and extinguished the fire.

Do not keep the washing machine in direct sunlight
Experts say that in summers, the washing machine should not be kept in a place where there is strong sunlight. The motor of the washing machine contains liquid oil. If it comes to high temperature, it can catch fire. Apart from this, if the switch is on while the machine is kept in the sun, then the risk of fire increases. The fire in Ghaziabad broke out due to the machine being kept in the sun. If there is no other option than keeping the machine in the sun, then cover it with a thick cloth and keep the switch off.
The AC also burst
A split AC installed in a flat in Shakti Khand, Indirapuram burst. This caused a fire in the room. Police and fire brigade team reached the spot and extinguished the fire. The AC was running at the time of the accident. Most of the houses have split ACs, a part of which is outside the house which throws out hot air. If that part is in bright sunlight, then there can be a risk of fire in it too.
There is a risk of the AC compressor bursting due to heat or a fire due to short circuit if it runs continuously for many hours. Therefore, it is important not to run the AC continuously for more than two hours on high temperature days, keep it off for half an hour after running it for two hours.
