Amidst all this, now veteran script writer Javed Akhtar has responded to Pakistani artists to both permission and ban to work in our country.
Pakistanis have always been welcome in India
Javed Akhtar said in a video of PTI, ‘The first question should be whether we should allow Pakistani artists to come here? There are two answers to this, both are equally logical. It has always been one -sided, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ghulam Ali, Nur Jahan came to India, we gave him a great welcome… Faiz Ahmed Faiz, who is a poet of the subcontinent, was living in Pakistan, when he came to India during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s reign, he was treated like a head of head, the kind of honor was given to him. I am afraid, it has never been taken revenge, I mean, I have no complaint with the people of Pakistan. But if our artists do not get response from their behalf, then how long will this last?
