If there is even a slight delay, petrol or diesel may spill outside the vehicle. This can also invite a major accident. But, the technical work has been done so well that there is no scope for error.
While filling petrol, you must have also seen that the pump workers stand comfortably after putting the nozzle in your car. As soon as the car’s tank is full, the petrol flowing from the nozzle immediately and automatically stops. As simple as it may seem, in reality its timing has to be more precise and this work is very careful.

What is technology after all?
This is done by the shut off valve installed in the petrol pump nozzle. As soon as the tank of your car is full, this valve closes automatically. Oil is being filled in your vehicle through this valve, so as soon as its valve closes, the fuel going into the car tank also stops. This automatic shut-off valve is designed with a short tube that extends into the tank. As the fuel level in the car tank rises and reaches the top of the tube, pressure increases and the shut-off valve closes.
Two laws of physics work
This technology, which closes the fuel nozzle going into the car in the blink of an eye, works on two main laws of physics. The first one is pressure. When fuel is filled in the tank of your car, it creates pressure. As the fuel moves upward, the pressure also increases. When this pressure reaches the top of the tank, the sensors send a signal to close the shut off valve.
Second is Venturi effect
While pouring fuel into the car tank, the second law of physics, Venturi effect, works. This effect works when the fuel is passed through a narrow space to reduce the pressure. As soon as the oil reaches the top of your car’s tank, the pressure reduces due to the venturi tube and this effect signals the shut off valve to immediately stop the flow of fuel. As soon as the valve closes, the oil stops flowing.
