Hero MotoCorp’s Glamor Range 125cc has been strong in the commuter segment for years. With the Glamor XTEC, the company was the first to introduce Bluetooth connectivity to everyday passengers. Now, the latest launch, The Glamor X, the segment-first takes things even further by bringing it into a suit of facilities.
Despite sharing the same nameplate, two motorcycles are quite different in their design, performance, technology and pricing. Here is how they stand against each other.

Design: Muscular vs Traditional
Glamor X is characterized by a sportier, more muscular stance, sharper bodywork, a long black-tinted windscreen, and tank shroud that intensify to create a ‘X’ pattern with fuel tanks. Its headlamps are re -designed, and the taillight assembly comes directly from the large Xtreme 250R, giving it a greater premium appearance.
Glamor XTEC, by contrast, maintains a more traditional commuter look. Its design is functional and familiar, which is aimed at buyers who prefer subtle styles on aggressive touch.
Engine and performance
Both motorcycles are powered by a 124.7cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, but their outputs are different. Glamor Xtreme borrows its motor from Xtreme 125R, produces 11.4 bhp at 8,250 rpm and 10.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This unit benefits from a balancer shaft and silent cam chain, which helps reduce vibration and improve refinement. Glamor XTEC makes a slightly less power at 10.7 bhp at 7,500 rpm, although the torque is almost the same at 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm.
Unlike XTEC, Glamor X introduced ride-by-wire throttle techniques, unlocked three selected ride modes: Power, Road and Eco, providing a more versatile ride experience.

Chassis and dimensions
Both motorcycles use the same suspension layout, with binoculars thorn on the front and twin shocks at the back. The size of the tire is also the same, with 80/100–18 to the front side and 100/80–18 backwards.
The dimensions vary slightly. The Glamor X seat height is 790 mm and 170 mm ground clearance, while the Glamor XTEC sits at 798 mm with 180 mm clearance. The weight is another point of difference: XTEC is lighter, tips the scales on 122 kg (drum) and 123 kg (disc). Glamor X is heavy on 125.5 kg (drum) and 127 kg (disc).

Features: Modern versus essential
This is the place where the differences between the two become the most clear. Glamor X is loaded with X technology, including cruise control, which is the first for any 125cc commuter in India. It also offers three riding modes, an adaptive color LCD screen with Bluetooth, an auto-appointed LED headlamp with an ambient light sensor, and an ambient light sensor. However, many of these premium features are limited to disc variants.
Glamor XTEC takes a more restrained approach. It provides a simple digital instrument cluster, but still includes Bluetooth connectivity with calls and SMS alerts, providing the riders useful functionality without a comprehensive gadget list of X.
Price determination
Despite its rich feature set, Glamor X is priced competitively. Drum version cost 90,000, while the disc is judged on the version 1 Lakh (East-Shorroom, Delhi). Glamor XTEC drum version is a bit more expensive 90,500, but its disk version underlines Glamor X, which is priced 95,000. This price difference refers to the additional equipment available on the glamor X disc trim.
