New Delhi. Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Sunil Shetty’s ‘Hera Pheri’ is Bollywood’s popular franchise. It has got the status of Cult Classic. So far, two films of this franchise have come and both proved to be very successful at the box office. Now fans are very excited about its third part i.e. ‘Hera Pheri 3’, but it will take more time to make it. Recently, Priyadarshan told that he will start work on the script from next year. Along with this, he also talked about the challenges coming in making the film.
In an interview to ETV India, Priyadarshan spoke about the ‘Hera Pheri’ franchise. He said, ‘I was confident that Hera Pheri would work, but I never thought that it would become a Cult film. It had a brilliant humor and tremendous performance. People never believed that Akshay, Sunil and Paresh can do comedy. Because in those days he was doing different types of films. But this shocked him and the success of Hera Pheri proved to be a turning point in his career.
Work on script will start next year
The filmmaker gave an update about ‘Hera Pheri 3’ and said that he will start writing the script in 2026. He said, ‘I am planning to start work on Hera Ferry 3 next year and write script. Creating a third part will be very challenging, because people will have many expectations. People are waiting to see Akshay, Paresh and Sunil again and we always say that it is easy to make people cry, it is easy to intimidate, but it is very difficult to laugh without double meaning dialogues.
Making third part is a big challenge
He further said, ‘The method of comedy also changes and the choice of people also changes. We have to keep pace with it. The age of the characters has also become more and according to that people should have faith, these are important things. I am taking it as a challenge. Let’s see how it works. Some situations will certainly be exaggerated and people will feel that this may happen. I will know when I put the pen on paper. I really have to fight this challenge and make a good script.

The franchise started in the year 2000

Om Puri, Tabu and Gulshan Grover were also seen. Apart from the three lead stars, Bipasha Basu, Rimi Sen, Sharat Saxena, Johnny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Milind Gunaji, Manoj Joshi were in its sequel. ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ movie was released in the year 2006.
