Raja Ram Temple: Nowadays, the city of Ayodhya is on the lips of every Ram devotee, everyone is desperate to go to Ayodhya and have darshan of Lord Ramlala. But today we are going to tell you about another city of Lord Ram. It is also known as the second Ayodhya of our country. This is a grand palace located in Orchha, Madhya Pradesh, where Lord Ram has an old association.
The relationship between Ayodhya and Orchha is about 600 years old. Here Lord Ram is not worshiped in any temple but in a palace. A large number of people come here to have darshan of Lord Ram. This is the only temple in India where Lord Rama is worshiped as a king. A guard of honor is organized for him every day in the palace, like the king, policemen are appointed as guards in the temple. Armed salute is given to Lord Ram every day.
History of Raja Ram Mahal
King Madhukar Shah of Orchha was a devotee of Banke Bihari i.e. Lord Krishna of Vrindavan while his wife Queen Ganesh Kunwari was a devotee of Lord Rama. One day the king and queen went to the temple of Lord Krishna, but since the temple was closed, they saw the devotees outside. Started dancing and singing together. It is said that meanwhile Lord Krishna and Radha appeared and flowers started raining. Then the king asked his queen to go with him to Mathura, the Braj land of Lord Krishna, but the queen went to Ayodhya. Due to this, the king became angry and said that if Ram was real then he would have given you darshan, if you are so adamant about going to Ayodhya then go and return only when Lord Ram also comes to Orchha with you.
The queen agreed to the king’s request and vowed that she would return from Ayodhya taking Ramlala with her, otherwise she would commit suicide by taking a dip in the Saryu river. She started meditating near the river bank, when Lord Rama did not give her darshan, she jumped into the river, then Lord Rama appeared in the incarnation of Vishnu. Rani asks him to go to Orchha, then he puts 3 conditions before Rani.
What were Ram’s conditions
First- There will be a journey on foot from Ayodhya to Orchha.
Second- The journey will take place in Pushya Nakshatra.
Third- Where the idol will be placed for the first time, it will remain established there and the rule will be of Lord Ram and not of anyone else.
Ramlala reached Orchha
The queen accepted all the conditions and set out on foot with Lord Ram in her lap. After reaching Orchha, she forgot the condition and placed Lord Ram in her palace, since then he has been sitting there.
