New Delhi. Moushumi Chatterjee rocked Hindi cinema in the 70s. He acted in three films with Amitabh Bachchan, including ‘Roti Taph House’, ‘Anam House’ and ‘Manzil’. After this, Amitabh and Moushumi were going to be pair on the silver screen once again, but filmmaker Shakti Samanta had dropped Moushumi out of the ‘rainy one night’. In an interview to Nayandeep Rakshit, Moushumi Chatterjee said, ‘It was a night of the filmmaker Shakti Samanta’s film Barsaat. One day Shakti Uncle called me and asked if you had any fight with Amitabh Bachchan? I told them that Uncle I am not so close to anyone that someone fights with me. I am very humble and good and I also get the same feedback.
Actors did not want to work with Moushumi Chatterjee
Moushumi told, ‘Then he (Shakti Samanta) said that this is the problem, most of the heroes say why took the seasonal man. We do not have tuning with him. Then they asked me that you understand what is the meaning of tuning? I said that maybe now I am understanding. Perhaps a little more than friendship, but I have not come here to make friends. I have come here to work.

Describing his experience, Moushumi Chatterjee said, ‘Amitabh Bachchan is really amazing. When I worked with him in Piku, he was very punctual. Today’s younger generation needs to learn from them.
Moushumi clarified his statement
During the interview, Moushumi Chatterjee also talked about the controversy when he had justified on Paparai and said that he should not be called Jaya Bachchan. He had said, ‘Don’t call me Jaya Bachchan, I am a better person.’ Explaining his statement, Moushumi said, ‘People make things, but the truth is that I do not like comparison. Sometimes they disturb them (paparai). They do not want to listen. When a person wants to keep himself away from the limelight, you cannot forced him to make him like it. But I do not like to compare. I believe that I am a better person.

Moushumi Chatterjee admitted that he and Jaya Bachchan had a tense relationship in the 1970s. He said, ‘I had heard stories and yes, there was a kind of rivalry.
