Kaithal: The second day of the three-day Regional Youth Festival organized at RKSD College brought an evening adorned with Haryanvi culture and folk songs. More than 300 students from 44 teams from about 50 colleges participated in this festival. The Youth Festival was organized with the aim of preserving the rich culture and traditions of Haryana, in which artists of different genres displayed their art.
A total of five stages were set up in the college campus to organize the festival. Like the first day, on the second day also the participants presented attractive programs like Rasiya Group Dance, One Act Play, Mimicry, Group Song Haryanvi, Solo Dance, Classical and Folk Solo. While these presentations enthralled the audience, it also proved to be an important platform to celebrate the culture of Haryana.
Artists danced to Haryanvi folk songs
On the second day of the festival, presentations of Haryanvi folk songs and traditional dances enthralled the audience. The students showcased their culture by dancing to folk songs, due to which the people who came to the program were mesmerized. The team of Satellite Primary School performed excellently in Haryanvi Male Group Song, while other artists also brought alive the cultural heritage of Haryana with dance, songs and traditional attire.
Social message through skit
The skits presented during the festival attacked social evils. The artistes captured the attention of the audience by spreading awareness on issues like women empowerment, child marriage, and anti-women practices. Through these presentations, the youth expressed their views openly and took a dig at the social evils of Haryanvi society.
What did Principal Dr. Sanjay Goyal say?
Regarding this festival, Principal of RKSD College, Dr. Sanjay Goyal said that this festival is not just a cultural event, but a platform for the youth to express their art and ideas. He said that special care has been taken about security and convenience during the festival so that the artists do not face any kind of inconvenience.
Effort to preserve the culture of Haryana
Professor Richa Lagyanam said that with the changing times, the youth of Haryana are seen leaning towards western culture, due to which the Haryanvi culture is getting lost. In such a situation, this festival is an excellent platform to cherish and promote Haryanvi art, dress and dialect. He appealed to the people of Haryana to come forward to preserve and promote their culture.
Emphasis on women empowerment
On the issue of women empowerment, Professor Lagyanam said that in this festival the girl students expressed their views openly and raised their voice against social evils. These types of platforms give them an opportunity to present their identity and ideas to the society.
Pro. Ashok Atri’s message
Professor Ashok Atri described such programs as a great step for the culture and future of Haryana. He said that with the changing times it is important for us to stay connected to our roots. Youth Festival provides an opportunity for youth to connect with and revive their traditions
