Tripura CMO said that Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced that the state government is working to establish a women’s university to empower the women of the state.
He also announced that the present government is trying to reduce the difference between dearness allowance (DA) between Central and State Government employees.
According to a press release, CM Saha said this while addressing the 64th Teacher’s Day 2025 program at Rabindra Satbarshiqi Bhavan on Friday.
“You can go to other businesses for the sake of money, but the teachers have chosen the teaching profession with passion and responsibility. Taking charge of the future generation, you have joined this great profession. Teachers are like a tree roots, while students receive branches, fruits, and flowers, which receive purity from those people.
He also said that before entering the classroom, teachers always try to give something new to the students.
“In the teaching profession, mental, physical and emotional energy is necessary. Teachers are inventors who establish knowledge and values in students. Teachers shine the lives of students. They are the backbone of a nation, and people are dependent on them. The Chief Minister said.
According to the release, Manik Saha, who is also the state education minister, said that the present government has opened three new government colleges. Under the Chief Minister Kanya Atmanirbhar Yojana, women students have been provided scooters to encourage them to advance higher education.
“We should work for the progress of girls. For this, we have waived fees for girl students in government colleges. Our state government is also working to establish a women’s university to empower girls. Many universities have expressed a desire to open campuses in Tripura, because peace is now strong here.
He said that earlier people had to attend the protest rallies for DA and DR.
He said, “However, we have given 29 per cent, and now the total DA and DR stands are 32 per cent. In the coming days, we are trying to reduce the DA and DR gap with the central government,” he said.
On this tenure, CM Saha gave Pandit Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar Saman to Dr. Atul Debbarma, eminent educationist, Dr. Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Saman was handed over to Sameer Chakraborty, eminent social worker, and Queen Tulsibati Samman to Pranati Debabmi Samman.
