New Delhi. Now making Paytm’s Fastag is not easy. Actually, Indian Highway Management Company Limited i.e. IHMCL, associated with the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), has banned the issuance of Fastag on behalf of Paytm Payments Bank. Let us tell you that IHMCL keeps an eye on toll related matters in the country.
According to media reports, IHMCL found that the parameters and rules set by Paytm Payments Bank for Service-Level Agreement (SLA) were not being followed. For this reason, Paytm Payments Bank has been stopped from issuing new Fastags. Earlier, a show cause notice was sent to Paytm by IHMCL in which it was asked why action should not be taken against Paytm in this matter.

This ban on Paytm Payments Bank has been implemented for all those toll plazas which are part of the National Electronic Toll Collection. It covers all the National Highway Network (NH Network) across the country.
What is FASTag?
Earlier one had to stand in line for a long time and pay toll. Now in the age of technology, people pay toll tax within a few minutes with the help of Fastag. It is an electronic toll collection system based on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. Fastag is pasted on the windshield of the vehicle in the form of a sticker with a magnetic strip. Readers installed at toll plazas scan the tag pasted on the windscreen of the vehicle and the charge is deducted through the linked account.
