GATE 2025 exams will be held on February 1-2 and February 15-16, 2025. The results will be made public on March 19, 2025.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee will start the online application process for Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering 2025 (GATE 2025) on August 28. Candidates appearing for the exam can apply on the official website gate2025.iitr.ac. Earlier the registration process was expected to start today i.e. August 24. Also, the last date to fill the GATE 2025 exam registration form is September 26. However, students can fill and submit the form with late fees till October 7, 2024.
However, candidates should note that the exam dates will remain unchanged. GATE 2025 exams are scheduled on February 1-2 and February 15-16, 2025. The results will be made public on March 19, 2025.
GATE 2025: Eligibility Criteria
The GATE 2024 exam is open to candidates who are enrolled in the third or higher year of an undergraduate programme or who have completed any government-approved degree programme in engineering, science, commerce, arts, technology, architecture or humanities.
GATE 2025: How to register?
Step 1. Visit the official GATE website gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
Step 2. From the homepage, select the registration link for GATE 2025.
Step 3. Now log in and fill in the required details
Step 4. Upload documents and pay registration fees.
Step 5. Review the form and take a printout for future use.
GATE 2025: Application Fee
General category students will have to pay an application fee of Rs 1800 for GATE 2025 registration. The exam fee will increase to Rs 2300 after the deadline. At the same time, the GATE exam 2024 registration fee is Rs 900 for female, SC, ST and PWD candidates, which will increase to Rs 1400 after September 26.
GATE 2025: Exam Pattern
GATE 2025 will be conducted as a 3-hour computer-based exam. GATE 2025 will consist of 30 test papers in English and will be completely objective. As per the notification, candidates are allowed to appear for only one or two test papers. The two test paper combinations must be chosen from the list available on the official website.
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination used to evaluate applicants for admission to master’s and doctoral programmes in engineering, technology, science, architecture and humanities, as well as for employment in certain public sector organisations. The exam will be conducted by IISc Bangalore and seven IITs, including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee, on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB), Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
