Elon Musk’s company xAI has launched a new messaging platform X Chat on the social media platform X. This platform is based on privacy and is considered a safe alternative to messaging services like WhatsApp, Arattai. X Chat gives users new features, like end-to-end encryption, advanced message controls, and a unified inbox that shows both old DMs and new Chat functions together.
Announcing this new messaging platform on X, Elon Musk wrote, ‘X has launched a whole new communication stack, which includes encrypted messages, audio/video calls and file transfer.’ He further said that X Money will also be launched soon, so that X can be developed as an ‘everything app’.
Special features of X Chat
End-to-end encryption and disappearing messages: All chats and file sharing in X Chat are encrypted. This means that the message will be limited only to the sender and receiver. Users can now send disappearing messages by editing, deleting the message or setting a timer. Unlike WhatsApp, deleted messages do not display a ‘this message was deleted’ note.
Screenshot Blocking: To enhance privacy, users can disable screenshots in X Chat and receive notifications when someone tries to take a screenshot of your chat.
No Ads & No Data Tracking: X Chat is free of any advertising or user data tracking.
Unified Inbox: Old DMs and new Chat messages will appear in one place.
Voice Memo Support: Voice memo feature will also be included in X Chat in the future.

X Chat is currently available on iOS and web and can be accessed through the DMs section of X. The company says that this platform will soon be available for Android users also.
