Security has increased in Mumbai following a social media warning on X, it has been claimed that on 31 March and 1 April, some areas may have “Hindu-Muslim riots, arson and bomb blasts” during Eid.
According to the news agency PTI, the warning message specifically referred to Dongri as a potential hotspot for activities, which allegedly included “illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi and Pakistani intruders”. The Post, which tagged the handle of Navi Mumbai Police, inspired immediate action from law enforcement.
In the PTI report, an official quoted that the Navi Mumbai Police immediately alerted the Mumbai Police, which led to an increase in security and patrolled in sensitive areas such as Dongri. The cyber cell has also launched a technical investigation to identify the person behind the social media post.
Meanwhile, the Navi Mumbai Police responded to the warning message, requested more information from the user concerned for verification and necessary action.
