E-Aadhaar App Launch: E-Aadhaar app will allow users to easily update important information like name, address, date and mobile number from their smartphones.

According to UIDAI’s CEO Bhuvanesh Kumar, about 2,000 of the 1 lakh base authentication devices have already been upgraded so that the upcoming system can be supported.
What is the new e-Aadhaar app?
On 8 April 2025, the Union Minister launched the beta version of the new Aadhaar mobile app developed in collaboration with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). This updated app includes many new facilities and strong safety measures. It allows users to certify and share the base information digitally, as well as protects personal privacy. With this upgrade, the base verification will be as faster and easy to complete as an UPI transaction.
According to UIDAI sources, this upcoming advance app can reduce the need to go to Aadhaar enrollment centers for regular updates to a great extent. Most amendments will be possible through a spontaneous interface, which will get rid of long queues, excessive paperwork and long wait.
In addition, UIDAI is planning to get the user data directly from the verified government database. This will include documents like birth certificate, PAN card, passport, driving license, ration card and MNREGA records under PDS scheme. Electricity bill details can also be included to make the address verification even easier.
