The website reports that the film is made all around 2.21 crore pure in India, taking its total collection 21.36 crore pure. It made 5.5 crores in its early day 6.4 crore and 7.25 crores on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, it had a overall occupation of 7.53%. Production House, Roy Kapoor Films, posted on social media that the film made 8.30 crore in India and 3.45 crore abroad, its day 3 overall 11.75 crore gross and total 34.01 crore gross.

Speaking to the press before the release of the film, Shahid addressed comparisons between Dev and his hit film Kabir Singh. He said, “This is an aggressive character, but Dev is very god; There is no Kabir Singh in it. Dava is a conversion of the 2013 Malayalam film Mumbai Police, directed by Roshan and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. The story, especially the climax, was taught to give it a new twist. In the film, Shahid played the role of ACP Dev Ambre, a person who loses his memory while trying to solve the killing of his best friend.
