The Delhi High Court on Friday requested the details of the Hindu College located in the capital, which is about the seats allotted under the additional activities (ECA) or sports quota for the academic year 2025-26.
Justice Vikas Mahajan directed the college administration to reserve a seat under Kota for 2025-26 academic year, while a petition was discussed demanding his allocation to the lawn tennis player.
The petitioner, Rawat, has contested 5 percent of the ECA/Sports quota college for non-compulsion for graduation by Delhi University.
The report said that advocate Jatendra Gupta, who represented the petitioner who claimed to be a gold medalist at CBSE National, argued that the sport quota was not being followed by the Wazifa College in the brochure.
Based on the number of seats available in the college, Gupta said that it should reserve at least 47 seats for ECA/Sports quota.
However, only 20 seats are reserved in the college- 10 for ECA and 10 for sports quota, he said.
In addition, Gupta said that within the game quota, reservation is limited to three games: basketball, cricket and football.
