Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday said commercialization of education is adversely affecting its quality which is not good for the future of the country.
Speaking at a function organized by a private educational institution in Rajasthan’s Sikar, Dhankhar said, “I see all around that what started as charitable work has now become commerce. Education becoming a business is the future of the country. Not good for.”
Saying that education was never a source of income but a medium of sacrifice and charity to build a healthy society, Dhankhar lamented that today it has become a commodity which is being sold for profit, thereby reducing its value. Quality is being adversely affected.
He said, “In some cases it is even taking the form of extortion. This is a matter of concern.”
