Assam minister and state government spokesman Piyush Hazarika on Monday slammed the Congress to try to “sabotage” in the state and alleged that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was attacked with bottles by “Congress goons”.
In a message posted on X, Hazrika said, “How is @INCASSAM tried to vandalize democracy in Assam. Today her goons attacked the Chief Minister of Assam with bottles, tomorrow they will launch the same goons grenade?”
“These cowards will not be spared – both electoral and legally. Mark my words @gauravgoiaasm,” he wrote tagging the Assam chief of Congress party Gaurav Gogoi.
CONG workers oppose the sale of cows, wave black flags
Opposition Congress workers on Monday waved the convoy of Assam CM Himant Biswa Sarma in the convoy of Assam CM Himant Biswa Sarma, as they were opposing the alleged sales of 90 Gir cows, which were purchased by the government, including individuals, including the minister’s wife.

Public Health Engineering Department Minister Jayant Malla Barua recently claimed that 90 of these cows were sold to private individuals as there was “insufficient infrastructure” to give them homes.
Subsequently, a list was released and the minister’s wife allegedly bought 20 of these cows, the report said.
Several complaints were filed
Apart from protest, the Congress filed complaints at various police stations, who allegedly demanding action against the minister for “misuse of public property, cheating and corruption” regarding the purchase of cows for the project.

Referring to the sales of cows, Sarma said that it is surprising that a party supporting ‘Qurbani’ during Eid is now protesting against cows who were rescued and given shelter, PTI Informed
He said, “This is the ‘religion’ of the BJP to protect cows and some of them have done so. The Congress has no moral right to oppose it,” he said.
Cows are alive and they are being taken care of and “Those who kill and eat cows are now talking about protecting them,” he said.
