90s star Alicia Silverstone scares fans
The 47-year-old actress began the video by saying, “I’ve discovered something that I don’t understand what it is, and I need your help.” Silverstone then showed off the mysterious fruit that had seeds inside. She revealed that she ate the fruit that resembled a “cherry tomato” after finding it on the streets of England.
“I just chewed on it because it was lying on the street and we were discussing whether it was a tomato or not,” the Crazy House actress said, before accidentally dropping the tomato on the floor. She added that it was “definitely” not a tomato. “Look at these leaves. These are leaves. So what is this? Because when you open it up, this is what it looks like,” she said, turning the camera towards a plant.
“So, what is this? Because, this is what it looks like when you open it up,” she asked her fans, adding, “And if I cut into it — I don’t think you should eat it, but it’s almost like chili? Does anybody know what this is?” Soon after Silverstone shared the video, fans flooded the comments section, asking the beloved ’90s icon if she was okay.
Sharp-eyed fans immediately recognized that this mysterious fruit was none other than the Jerusalem cherry. The experts at GardeningKnowHow.Com warn that “despite its cheerful colors, the fruit of the Jerusalem cherry houseplant is poisonous and should be kept out of reach of curious children and pets. Ingesting any part of the plant can result in poisoning and even death.”
Since Silverstone is yet to break her silence, fans are concerned about her health. One fan commented on her TikTok video, “OMG NO!! Jerusalem cherries are very poisonous in the nightshade family, hope you’re okay.” Another asked, “Why would anyone eat random, unknown things off the street?!?” Meanwhile, according to Page Six, a third said, “Lady! Update us! Are you alive and well!?!”
