The accused lured the 15-year-old girl and took her to his friend’s house in Fatehpur police station area, where the incident took place.
On Tuesday, police said that a 26-year-old man known to her allegedly raped a Class 11 student on her way to a coaching centre. They said that the accused lured the 15-year-old girl to his friend’s house in Fatehpur police station area where the incident took place on Monday. The accused has been taken into custody.
“The girl’s father told in the complaint lodged with the police that on Monday she had left the house to go to coaching. On the way, Mohammad Aftab took her to his friend’s house by luring her on some pretext. The house was locked from outside to avoid suspicion.
“After some time, neighbours reached there after hearing someone shouting from inside the closed house,” a police officer said.
The officer said that after this some people broke the lock and caught Aftab and his friend. Aftab was handed over to the police, while his friend managed to escape.
Kotwali Inspector DK Singh said that on the complaint of the father, a preliminary case has been registered against the accused.
“The accused has been taken into custody and the matter is being investigated,” he said.
