The Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations (Class 12) began on Monday in the state capital as well as the rest of the country, with the first paper traditionally being English Language.
He said that the candidates found the paper easy and the topics attractive, which made creative expression possible. The examination was conducted at 82 centers in Lucknow.
Gurkeerat Kaur of La Martiniere Girls College said it was a good experience, students found it well structured. Her friend Vaidehi Baranwal believed that with the guidance of her English teacher, she found the paper easy and simple. “I was able to finish the paper before time because we practiced a lot in class and our teacher stressed many times how important time management is in board exams,” she said.
Most of the LMGC students said that the paper itself was simple and not beyond the standard of sample papers released by the board. Krishnapriya felt that the comprehension questions were long.
The happy faces at Horner College in the metropolis said it all. The students were happy to have a good start to their board exams. Anmol Mishra, an examinee, said all the strategies worked and he is hopeful of getting good marks. Antara Singh said that because the paper was easy, all her preparations were successful.
Before the exams began, students took blessings from their principal Mala Mehra while teachers applied traditional tilak on their foreheads. Once seated, the Principal led the students in a special prayer to seek blessings from the Almighty for guidance during the examination.
Teachers at St. Joseph’s Group of Institutions, Lucknow, wished the students before the paper. The teachers applied tilak to the students and sent them to the examination hall. The three-hour exam was conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm.
