What can be a success for orthopedic treatment, researchers in China have developed a medical adhesive that can reduce fracture and scattering bones in three minutes.
According to a Global Times report, on 10 September, a adhesive called “Bone -02” was unveiled by a research team in Zhejiang province.

Sir Run Run Shaw Hospital and Project Leader Associate Chief Orthopedic surgeon Lin Gianfeng said that the inspiration has brought the bridges under the water tightly to see the bridges tightly. The result was a bone glue capable of obtaining accurate fixation in only two to three minutes, even in the blood-rich environment where traditional adhesives usually fail.
Unlike metal transplantation, glue is naturally absorbed by the body as healed of the bone, eliminating the need for a second surgery.
Tested on more than 150 patients
So far, “bone -02” has been tested in more than 150 patients, in which laboratory results show promising results on both safety and power. In a test, procedures usually require steel plates and screws, with glue in less than three minutes.
Researchers stated that glued bones displayed a ligament force of more than 400 pounds, about 0.5 MPa shrinking strength, and compressed power of about 10 MPA – results that suggest that the adhesive can change traditional metal transplant, while also reduces the risk of infection or rejection.
Why does it matter
Currently, bone cement and filler are used in fracture treatment, but no one acts as a correct adhesive. In the 1940s, early attempts by bone glue used gelatin, epoxy resins and acrylets, but were abandoned due to bio -revolutionary issues.
If further tests confirm its efficacy, Chinese scientists say that “bone -02” can mark a large jump in orthopedic care, giving patients a sharp and less aggressive option for traditional surgery.
