CBSE Class 10, 12 New Datesheet: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the Class 10 and Class 12 examinations scheduled to begin on March 3, 2026, citing administrative reasons. The board has also released a revised timetable, in which many key papers have been rescheduled to later dates.
Which CBSE exams have been rescheduled?
Class 10 examinations for Tibetan, German, National Cadet Corps, Bhoti, Bodo, Tangkhul, Japanese, Bhutia, Spanish, Kashmiri, Mizo, Bahasa Melayu and Elements of Book Keeping and Accountancy will now be held on March 11.
The Class 12 Legal Studies paper, which was earlier scheduled for March 3, will now be held on April 10.
Why were the exam dates changed?
In a circular dated December 29, 2025, Controller of Examinations Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj informed principals of CBSE-affiliated schools that the examinations were rescheduled due to administrative reasons.
The circular read: “The examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 subjects, which were earlier scheduled for March 03, 2026, have been rescheduled for administrative reasons. The revised dates are as follows: Class 10 – March 11, 2026; Class 12 – April 10, 2026. All other examination dates will remain unchanged.”
CBSE confirmed that the revised dates will be updated on the admit cards of the students. Schools have also been asked to revise their internal date sheets.
What instructions have been given to schools?
The circular clearly states that schools should inform students and parents and ensure that the updated schedule is shared smoothly with all concerned.
Students appearing for the board exams are advised to check the revised timetable carefully and plan their preparation accordingly.
When will CBSE board exams start?
CBSE board exams will start from 17th February.
Class 10: Mathematics (Standard and Basic) exam will be held on the first day
Class 12: Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, Shorthand (English), and Shorthand (Hindi) will be conducted
What will be the exam time on the first day?
On the first day, both Class 10 and Class 12 examinations will be conducted in a single shift from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
