Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode is preparing to conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 for admission to its management programmes. Recently, the institute released a revised admission policy for the academic session 2025-26, which increases the weightage of Class 12 marks for Post Graduate Program (PGP) admissions. Despite this, the weightage of CAT 2024 scores remains unchanged at 35 percent, the same as last year.
Under the new admission criteria for 2025, the weightage of Class 12 marks will now be 20 per cent, while the weightage of Class 10 marks has been reduced to 15 per cent. In comparison, last year’s policy gave 15 percent weightage to Class 12 marks and 25 percent weightage to Class 10 marks.
CAT 2024 exam is scheduled to be held on November 24. The institute will announce the list of shortlisted candidates for Phase 2 by the last week of January 2025, while the final merit list for admission will be released around the second week of May 2025. ,
IIM Kozhikode Admission 2025
The admission process of IIM Kozhikode for its flagship PGP program (2025-27) through CAT 2024 follows a three-stage selection process. It involves registration of candidates meeting the eligibility criteria, followed by shortlisting for Writing Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) and final shortlisting which is based on CAT score, resume score and performance in WAT and PI.

To apply to IIM Kozhikode for PGP Admission 2025, candidates with a bachelor’s degree with at least 60 percent aggregate marks are eligible. Additionally, applicants who do not have a bachelor’s degree but have CA, CMA (ICWA), or CS with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks in these degrees are eligible. Step 2
Candidates who will successfully register for CAT 2024 will be considered for the second stage of the selection process at the institute. On the basis of Overall Index Score (AIS) students will be shortlisted for Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). This score will be calculated taking into account the performance in CAT 2024, class 10 and 12 scores, gender diversity, educational diversity and work experience.

IIM Kozhikode will conduct Written Aptitude Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) in multiple cities including Kolkata, Kozhikode, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai and New Delhi. During WAT, candidates will be given an essay topic, which will be announced at the exam venue. In PI, the interviewer will evaluate the candidates on the basis of their academic performance, personality, general awareness, attitude, communication skills and quality of work experience.
Thereafter, the institute will prepare a category-wise merit list based on the performance of the candidates in CAT 2024, WAT and PI and biodata. The weightage given to each component for the final shortlisting is given below:
