BYD Auto has launched its Sealed electric sedan in India, where it already sells the Atto 3 SUV and the e6, an MPV. BYD first showcased the Seal in India at the Auto Expo in January last year.
Variants and price
In India, the world’s largest EV maker, based in Shenzhen, China, will offer the Seal in three variants – entry-level Dynamic, Premium and top-spec Performance, priced at 41 lakh, 45.55 lakh, and 53 lakh respectively (all prices are ex-showroom).
Booking has started at token amount of Rs. 1.25 lakh.
Battery and powertrain
The company will sell this sedan with two battery pack options, including a 61.44 kWh pack (only with the Dynamic variant) and an 82.56 kWh battery pack (with the Premium and Performance variants). On the powertrain front, meanwhile, the Dynamic produces 201 bhp of maximum power and 310 Nm of peak torque, 308 bhp and 360 Nm (Premium) and 522 bhp and 670 Nm (Performance).
Category
In Dynamic trim, the Seal gets a claimed range figure of 510 km with a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 7.5 seconds. The corresponding figures for the Premium are 650 km and 5.9 seconds, and for the Performance trim are 580 km and 3.8 seconds.

Inside the cabin, BYD has provided features like a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a digital driver display, a rotating touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver… Support systems) etc.

The EV comes in four color options – Arctic Blue, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White and Cosmos Black.
