SC/ST students who pass the UPSC preliminary exam will get Rs 1 lakh.
Interested candidates can apply online at www.jharkhand.gov.in and www.jstcdc.org.in till the last date 2 August 2024, 6 PM.
In a significant move aimed at providing assistance to aspiring civil servants from underprivileged communities, the Jharkhand government has launched a new financial aid scheme. Under this initiative, SC/ST students who clear the civil services preliminary examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), New Delhi will get Rs 1 lakh to help them prepare for the main exam and interview.
Announcing the scheme, District Information and Public Relations Office (Gumla) officer Alina Das said that this financial assistance is part of the “Mukhyamantri ST/SC Civil Service Incentive Scheme”. The aim of this one-time assistance is to empower eligible candidates by providing them crucial financial support at a crucial stage of their career aspirations.
eligibility criteria:
- Applicants must have passed the Intermediate and Graduation examination from Jharkhand and belong to the SC/ST category of the state.
- The family income should not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh per annum from all sources.
- Every candidate can avail the benefit of this scheme only once.
- Candidates who have already taken coaching from the State Government for Civil Services Examination are not eligible.
Application Process:
Interested candidates can apply online on www.jharkhand.gov.in and www.jstcdc.org.in till the last date 2 August 2024 at 6 pm. Applications submitted after the due date will not be considered. Along with the application form, candidates have to attach self-attested photocopies of relevant documents including Jharkhand resident certificate, caste certificate, income certificate, educational qualification certificate, UPSC preliminary examination admit card and proof of passing the preliminary examination.

Completely filled applications can be submitted in person to the Tribal Welfare Commissioner’s Office, Kalyan Complex, 2nd Floor, Balihar Road, Morabadi, Ranchi-834008, Jharkhand. Alternatively, applications can also be sent through speed post.
