Baby John box office collection Day 1: Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh and Vamika Gabbi-starrer Baby John releases in theaters on December 25. It is a remake of the film Theri, which starred Vijay. According to the latest update on sacnilk.com, Baby John has now crossed Earned Rs 10 crore at the box office in India on the first day. Due to its release on a holiday, Baby John did well at the box office on the first day. Reports state that Baby John collected As per initial estimate Rs 12.5 crore. On Wednesday the film got 24.53 percent Hindi occupancy. It will be interesting to see how the film performs in its extended opening weekend with the holiday season starting today.
However, Baby has failed to surpass the opening day box office collections of John Thery. According to India Today, the film’s first day collection is 1.5 percent. 13.1 crore based on its release in Tamil Nadu only. Moreover, it is Allu Arjun-starrer Pushpa 2 which is giving tough competition to Baby John even in its third week. Pushpa 2 collected 20.7 crores.

Baby John is an action thriller directed by Kelly and produced by the then-famous Atlee. The film also stars Jackie Shroff and Rajpal Yadav, with Salman Khan also in a cameo role.
An excerpt from the Hindustan Times review of the film reads, “The film starts off very tumultuous, and has no soul for about 40 minutes. There is no sense of direction, and revolves around his father. There is no impact on the beautiful girl. Atlee, who has also given Jawan and Theri as a director, is responsible for the story here. It seems that he did the same with Shahrukh Khan in Pyaar Karta Kabootar. It is really used to create a stir. There is also a social message inserted here.
