Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has informed in an official notification that it will conduct the Combined Competitive Preliminary Examination 2023 for the subsequent screening of candidates for the Main Examination.
As per the APSC notification, the tentative date of preliminary exam notified by the commission is March 17, while the main exam is likely to be held between June and July this year. However the exact date will be informed in due course.
Candidates can submit online application from 17 January 12 noon to 6 February 5 pm. The last date for payment is 8th February till 5 pm.

Eligibility:
- The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- The age of the candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 38 years (there is relaxation in upper age limit for different categories). The age limit of the candidates will be calculated only on the basis of Matriculation/HSLC Admit Card/Certificate issued by a recognized Board/Council.
- The candidate must have a degree from any University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or established by an Act of Parliament or declared educational institutions declared as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act. 1956 or such qualification as may be declared equivalent by the Government.
- A candidate should be able to speak Assamese or other official languages or associate official languages of the State or any tribal language of the State.
- The candidate must be registered with the District Employment Office of Assam.
- (Candidate must be a native of Assam.
- Candidates must possess the prescribed qualifications on the date of submission of their applications.
- Ex-Servicemen candidates will be required to submit Ex-Serviceman Identity Card and Discharge Book issued by the District Sainik Welfare Office.
- Candidates will be required to submit a declaration regarding “small family norms” in Form-A while applying for the preliminary examination.

Instructions to candidates
- In the notification, APSC has advised the candidates to first read the eligibility criteria carefully and ensure that they fulfill all the required points. It further states that admission to all stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to fulfillment of the prescribed eligibility conditions. The Commission said that the issuance of e-admit card will not mean that the candidature has been approved. APSC said that the verification of eligibility conditions with respect to original documents is done only after the candidate qualifies for the interview round.
- The Commission further said that if on verification at any time before or after the Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test (Interview) it is found that the candidates do not satisfy any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination will be cancelled. - Candidates should carefully decide about their choice of center for the examination while submitting the application form. If any candidate appears at any center other than the one indicated by the Commission in the admit card, he will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
- Further, those candidates who are already in Government service or who are serving in Public Enterprises must submit an affidavit that they have informed in writing to their Head of Office/Department about applying for the examination at the time of interview. Have informed. If the Commission receives a communication from their employer withholding permission of the candidates applying to appear in the examination, their applications will be rejected and subsequently cancelled, the Commission informed.
Center for Preliminary Examination:
The centers of Combined Competitive (Preliminary) Examination are Amingaon, Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Biswanath Chariyali, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Diphu, Goalpara, Golaghat, Guwahati, Haflong, Hamren, Hatsingimari, Hojal, Jorhat. Kajalgaon, Karimganj, Kokrajhar, Majuli, Mangaldol, Morigaon, Mushalpur, Nagaon, Nalbari, North Lakhimpur, Silchar, Sivasagar, Sonari, Tezpur, Tinsukia and Udalguri.
