Chhatarpur. Ram Asare Ahirwar, a resident of Hanukheda, a small village in the district, who is about 45 years old. Although he does not have eyesight, his passion for music is such that when he is called somewhere at midnight, he goes with his Tamura and Sarangi. He is adept at making all types of music. Be it Bundeli folk songs or God’s Khayali or Gaari or even Dadra and Sohar. Recently, he has sung a song about the hobbies of his newly-wed daughter-in-law, after which it has become increasingly viral on social media.

Ram Asare Ahirwar while talking to Local 18 says that I have been playing this Tamura instrument since childhood. Studied till class 5th. After this, my father died, so I left my studies and started working as a labourer. After this the mother also left. After losing his parents, he started singing God’s hymns and Bundeli folk songs by playing them on his Tamura.

Whatever I get from singing and playing is God’s blessing for me and it is with this that I manage my expenses. However, people have started calling me outside the village and in the city also. People like my folk songs. Only the benefit of old age pension scheme is available in the government scheme.
When the situation worsened, the eyes left me.
Ram Asare says that he completely lost his eyesight after 2014. Before this, I could see a little with my eyes. I have not been blind since childhood, but the conditions at home worsened to such an extent that my eating habits deteriorated and mental stress increased, due to which my eyesight also gradually decreased. Now nothing can be seen with these eyes.
Bundeli also sing God’s hymns along with folk songs.
Ram Asare tells that he is proficient in singing Bundeli folk songs along with playing Tamura. Along with Tamura, I also make tunes from Sarangi. In the form of God’s hymns, I also recite Khayal and Gaari to the people by playing Tamura. Khayal and Gaari in which Radha-Krishna communicate. Apart from this, I also sing Dadra and Sohar which are sung in children’s birthday celebrations at home.
