SSC CGL 2025: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the exam schedule for one of the most awaited national level examinations. Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2025 Tier 2 exam will be conducted next month on 2 days – January 18 and 19, 2026.
SSC CGL 2025: Tier 2 exam date
A total of 1,39,395 candidates will appear in the CGP Tier 2 examination at various centers across the country to fill various posts of Group-B and Group-C. All these candidates have qualified the Tier 1 stage examination and will be assessed on January 18 for their quantitative abilities, English, general awareness and computer knowledge. Paper 2 will have access to Statistics Aptitude. There will be skill tests (DEST) on the next day.
The Central Government is running this recruitment drive to fill many vacancies in various ministries and departments. SSC released the merit list with minimum qualifying marks. Shortlisted candidates will appear for Tier 2 examination.

6,196 candidates qualified for the Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) post, while 2,781 candidates qualified for the Statistical Investigator Grade II Tier 2 exam. A total of 1,30,418 candidates have qualified the exam including all other posts.
The notification issued on December 18 said, “Since Tier-I of the computer-based examination was conducted in multiple shifts, the marks obtained by the candidates have been normalized as per the formula/methodology published by the Commission on its website (vide write-up F. No. HQ-PP001/6/2024-PP dated 02.06.2025). Such normalized marks will be used to qualify the candidates for the next stage of the examination. Has been done to achieve. [i.e. CGLE (Tier-II)],
The Commission had conducted the CGL Tier-I exam in computer-based mode between September 12 and 26, while the re-examination was held on October 14. This year around 28 lakh candidates registered for the SSC CGL exam, which is one of the biggest competitive exams conducted in the country. The Tier 1 exam was conducted over a period of 15 days at 255 centers in 126 cities in which around 13.5 lakh candidates appeared.
