For the last two days, continuous rains have surrounded villages in many districts of the state.
“He has been raining heavy for the last few days and the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains for the next few days.
Mann said on X, “In view of this, all primary, secondary, senior secondary government and private schools of the state will remain closed from August 27 to August 30.”
Due to heavy rains in its catchment areas in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, Sutlees, Beas and Ravi rivers and seasonal reviewers and due to continuous rains in Punjab, surround large farm swathas in villages with these rivers.
Many districts of Punjab also have problems for villages in the release of surplus water from Pong and Bhakra dams.
The worst affected villages are Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Taran Taran, Ferrozpur and Hoshiarpur districts.
