Smriti Mandhana skips Kapil’s show
The makers of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Wednesday released the promo of the upcoming episode featuring the Indian women’s cricket team. Head coach Amol Majumdar will also be included in this episode.
In the promo, Kapil is seen asking Indian women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur about the Bhangra moves shown while lifting the trophy. Joining the conversation, Jemima revealed that it was Smriti Mandhana who encouraged her to take up dance.
Jemimah said, “Harry didi didn’t listen to us. But Smriti had said that if I didn’t do the Bhangra, she wouldn’t talk to me for life).
Kapil also asked Shafali Verma about Pratika’s injury. When her reply came with a straight face, Kapil jokingly said, “Haan to gussa kyun kar rahi ho, maine to aise hi pukha. (Why are you angry? I just asked)”.
Later, Kapil gets into matchmaker mode and playfully asks Renuka Singh about her ‘ideal boy’. In the promo, Sunil Grover, Krishna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda were also seen adding to the entertainment in the episode. This episode will go live on December 27.
Internet reacts
Social media users immediately noticed the absence of the memory and flooded the comments section with their reactions.
One comment read, “Smriti is sorely missed in this show, also she was missed in KBC… But her name is always mentioned wherever the team goes, which makes one feel very special about the team… They are really setting high standards for team play and their relationship with each other… They are winning in life too.”
“Memory is missing here,” another shared, while one noted, “Memory is missing.”
One wrote, “Smriti ma’am is being missed a lot here. Maggie is the worst human being.” Another shared, “Smriti Mandhana is not here.” One posted, “We miss you my queen Smriti Mandhana.”
Earlier this month, Smriti announced on Instagram Stories that the wedding has been called off and requested privacy for both the families. In a separate statement posted on his Instagram account at the same time, Palash confirmed the cancellation of the wedding. “I have decided to move on with my life and step back from my personal relationship,” he wrote.
Smriti also posted on her Instagram stories. She said, “There has been a lot of speculation surrounding my life over the past few weeks and I feel it is important for me to speak out at this time. I am a very private person and I would like to keep it that way but I must make it clear that the wedding has been annulled. I would like to close this matter here and urge all of you to do the same. I ask that you please respect the privacy of both families at this time and allow us to process and move forward at our own pace.” Palash and Smriti’s wedding was to take place on November 24 in their hometown Sangli. They have unfollowed each other on Instagram.
