Ada Sharma said to the people calling the film propaganda, “Unless it is with you or your family member, you just do not want to believe that it is true.” When he was asked if he was appreciated from his colleagues in the industry, Ada accepted. She said, ‘According to the industry, I do not think she was appreciated. But my parents are not from the industry and appreciation also depends on how we understand it. I cannot ask people to tweet for me. If someone really wants to do so, they will. If not, I cannot force it. I got messages from the people of the industry privately, but I cannot ask them to put it in front of the public.
Reaction to winning the National Award
The Chief Minister of Kerala criticized the National Film Awards of ‘The Kerala Story’. The Chief Minister had said that the film was made with the aim of defaming Kerala and spreading communalism. He said that by honoring this film, Awards Jury has insulted the great tradition of religious brotherhood and national unity of Indian cinema. There was a big controversy over the release of ‘The Kerala Story’, directed by Sudipto Sen in 2023. The film is the story of three women who were allegedly forced to convert and ISIS made them radical.
