As Aamir Khan’s film Sarfarosh completes 25 years, the actor recently attended the premiere of his 1996 action-thriller. A special screening of the John Mathew Mathew directed film was held in Mumbai. While addressing the press, Aamir finally talked about the sequel of Sarfarosh. Aamir talked a lot about Sarfarosh 2
While interacting with the press, Aamir was asked about his plans for Sarfarosh 2. The actor said, “You have snatched away the heart of all of us. I have been following John for many years. Balki, in the last scene of the film, we also gave a little feeling that Sarfarosh 2 is going to come. We had also hinted about Sarfarosh 2 in the climax of Sarfarosh.” When Aamir and Naseeruddin Shah smiled, the audience present at the program shouted ”Sarfarosh 2”. The actor further added, “The one thing I can promise is that we will definitely work seriously on coming up with the right script and the right kind of film for this, so John you have to work here Sarfarosh. 2) Even I think so.”

Aamir arrived at the screening in a casual look and wore a dark blue T-shirt and ripped jeans. Sonali Bendre, who starred opposite Aamir in Sarfarosh, attended the premiere wearing a red gown. The film’s supporting cast Pradeep Ram Singh Rawat, Makrand Deshpande, Govind Namdev, Akhilendra Mishra and Ashok Lokhande also attended the screening.

Sarfarosh was based on an Indian police officer’s fight against cross-border terrorism. Aamir’s portrayal of Ajay Singh Rathore against the villainous Gulfam Hassan played by Naseeruddin Shah received appreciation. The film was critically and commercially successful. Sarfarosh received the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. It was made in Kannada and titled Satyameva Jayathe. The Telugu remake of the film starring Aamir was titled Astram (2006), starring Vishnu Manchu and Anushka Shetty.
Aamir is currently shooting for his new film titled Sitaare Zameen Par, co-starring Genelia Deshmukh and Darsheel Safary.
